What we do

Six programmes. One whole child.

The classroom, the kitchen, the clinic and the home all shape a child’s future. We look after all four.

Education Support

Ready to learn.

We stand beside children who might otherwise struggle to stay in school.

  • Regular mentorship from volunteers and Committee members
  • Scholastic materials for the children: books, pens and mathematical sets
  • We support 50 children today
  • Our next goal, once funding allows: school fees, uniforms and more

Child Protection & Welfare

Safe homes.

Every child has the right to be safe. Our Safeguarding Policy is binding on all staff, volunteers and partners.

  • Policy in force since 2 July 2024, reviewed every year
  • Home visits and caregiver support for families
  • Everyone signs the Safeguarding Acknowledgement
  • Zero tolerance for harm, abuse and exploitation
  • From 2027, every home visit and incident is logged in dedicated registers
Health & Nutrition

Full plates.

A hungry or unwell child cannot learn, so we combine nutritious meals with medical support.

  • Routine feeding cycles for all 50 children: rice, beans, maize flour, vegetables and meat
  • About 400 to 500 meals across 8 to 10 feeding events since April 2024 (estimate from purchase records)
  • April 2026: we distributed scholastic and sanitary materials to the children, including books, pens, mathematical sets and toilet paper
  • Medical referrals, and routine assessments by our volunteer doctor
  • Health education alongside programme activities
  • Meals and referrals logged in a register from October 2026

Psychosocial Support

Open ears.

We nurture confidence and emotional wellbeing as much as grades.

  • Guidance and counselling for children in the programme
  • Life skills training through workshops and activities
  • Recreation that builds friendships and social skills
  • A dedicated Child Guidance and Support volunteer
  • All 50 children receive psychosocial support
Community Engagement

Strong villages.

Lasting change happens when families and communities are on board.

  • Parent meetings that involve families in their children’s education
  • Community sensitisation on why education matters
  • Outreach across Musima Village and surrounding communities
  • Partnerships with 5 schools in Bugweri and Mayuge
  • Volunteers involved in programme delivery
School Outreach

Brave classrooms.

Interactive teenage pregnancy prevention workshops and life skills sessions, because discussion works better than lectures.

  • 2026 campaign: 1,000 students, 5 schools, 2 districts
  • Budget UGX 4,820,000 (USD 1,338.89): about USD 1.34 per student
  • Goal: 3,000 students by 2028 with a standard workshop curriculum

Help a child stay in school.

$40 a month takes care of one child, and $50 a term pays their school fees. Give, partner, or give your time.
